Ron Jaworski’s net worth in 2022 is estimated to be at $5 million. This is agreed upon by multiple reputable sources such as Celebrity Net Worth.

Ronald Vincent Jaworski was born on March 23, 1951, in Lackawanna, New York. During his high school years, he was a three-sport star as he played baseball, basketball, and football. He was offered a contract by the St. Louis Cardinals of the Major League Baseball but refused to accept as he wanted to attend college at Youngstown State University.

He played football for the Youngstown State Penguins and he earned the nicknames “Rifle Ron” and the “Polish Rifle” as he was able to showcase his passing prowess as a quarterback for Youngstown’s pass-oriented offense.

He earned a selection to the Senior Bowl and he set multiple school records such as most pass completions with 139, pass completions in a career with 325, most passing yards in a season with 2,123, career passing yards with 4,612, most touchdowns passes in a single game with 4, and most touchdown passes in a season with 32.

Ron Jaworski had 32 career touchdowns with the Penguins which ranked him second-most in school history. In 1986, he was inducted into the Youngstown State’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

After his collegiate career, Jaworski went on to the pros and was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1973 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. He was initially a third-string quarterback, but injuries to the starting and backup quarterbacks in 1975 gave him a chance to become the team’s primary quarterback.

He played for the Los Angeles Rams for three years. In 1977, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for former All-Pro tight end Charles Young. Ron Jaworski had the opportunity to start for the up-and-coming Eagles squad under coach Dick Vermeil.

In the 1978 season, the Philadelphia Eagles qualified for the playoffs with a 9-7 record. Unfortunately, they lost to the Atlanta Falcons despite an early 13-0 lead as they collapsed in the last 5 minutes and the Falcons ended up winning 14-13.

Two years later, the Eagles started out 11-1 in the regular season en route to a 12-4 finish. Ron Jaworski had a career year as he threw for 3,529 yards in 257 completions with only 12 interceptions and he scored 12 touchdowns.

Jaworksi was named the United Press International Player of the Year and he was the recipient of the Bert Bell Award, the Maxwell Football Club’s Professional Player of the Year Award, and Dunlop Rubber’s Professional Athlete of the Year Award.

The Eagles cruised through the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs to book their ticket to their first-ever Super Bowl. In Super Bowl XV, Philadelphia faced the Oakland Raiders. Unfortunately, they failed to overcome the opposing squad as they lost 27-10.

In the 1985 season opener, Ron Jaworski had a subpar game which led to him being benched and replaced by rookie Randall Cunningham. In the same season, he threw an NFL-record 99-yard touchdown pass to Mike Quick in their game against the Atlanta Falcons.

At the end of the 1986 season, the Philadelphia Eagles did not re-sign Ron Jaworski and he was eventually released. The following year, he signed for the Miami Dolphins to back up Dan Marino but did not see any playing time in that season. In 1988, he played limited minutes for the Dolphins.

In 1989, he signed for the Kansas City Chiefs but only played in 6 games and only started in 3. He then retired from professional football after the end of the season.

In Ron Jaworski’s 17-year NFL career, he played 188 games and started 143 of those. He threw for 28,190 yards with 179 touchdowns in 2,187 completions and 4,117 attempts. He also rushed for 859 yards and 16 touchdowns.

In 1991, he was inducted into the National Polish-American Hall of Fame. A year later, Ron Jaworski was inducted into the Philadelphia Eagles Honor Roll.

Jaworski became a sports analyst after his retirement. However, even in his playing days, he also dabbled in broadcasting. His first experience came in 1976 as the sports director on the Bob Shannon morning show in Orange County, California, during his time with the Rams.

He also had his own shows during his time with the Eagles. In 1988, he was a sports commentator for WIP’s Ron Jaworski show. He then had other Eagles-related shows until 1992.

Jaworski then joined ESPN as an analyst and he served as a color commentator for their Monday Night Football broadcasts. Unfortunately, multiple on-air personalities were laid off by ESPN and that included Ron Jaworski.

Aside from his work as a sports analyst, Ron Jaworski had multiple ventures after his retirement. He became a co-owner of multiple Arena Football League teams such as Philadelphia Soul, Albany Empire, and the Atlantic City Blackjacks. He also served as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the AFL from 2018 to 2019.

He was part of the primary investors of the Elite Football League of India along with former Chicago Bears head coach Mike Ditka and former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin, among other prominent American backers.

Currently, he owns multiple golf courses and country clubs within the Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas through the Ron Jaworski Golf Management.
