Rougned Odor, second baseman for the Texas Rangers, obtained recent infamy after punching Toronto Blue Jays right fielder José Bautista square in the jaw a few weeks ago. Now serving a seven game suspension, the Ranger has had plenty of time to explore other sports.

Most recently, Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki was seen taking Odor's latest punch, or at least posing for it.

It is good to see top level athletes bond across different sports. It's unfortunate to have this bonding emerge from unsportsmanlike conduct, but at least the two Texas teams look to be sticking together.

Odor was fined $5,000 for the issue. Hopefully this amount of money will convince Odor to hold off on his violent ways. When NBA players flop, they are fined the same amount, and this trend has settled in most cases.

Despite Nowitzki's prominence among Texas sports culture, some fans may find it unappealing that he is condoning this unprofessional move. Although it is not likely to happen, let's hope Nowitzki keeps these in-game acts of violence out of basketball (he surely will).
