Juventus is currently on the lookout for an attacking reinforcement in the wake of winger Federico Chiesa's torn ACL injury. The Serie A giants could turn to one notable Barcelona talent as a solution to this matter.

As noted by Gianluca Di Marzio’s official website, Juventus is showing an interest in acquiring Barcelona forward Memphis Depay. The Serie A side prefers to haul in the Dutch international via a loan deal.

Juventus is leaning towards signing a “versatile offensive player” rather than a winger in response to Chiesa’s likely season-ending injury. The report does add that Barca had previously offered Depay in a possible move for striker Alvaro Morata, although it is not known on the Bianconeri’s interest in rejuvenating talks for such a deal.

Depay signed with Barcelona over the recent summer transfer window. Although clubs such as Juventus showed an interest in acquiring him as a free agent, the now-former Olympique Lyonnais star opted to instead join the Catalan side on a multiyear free transfer deal.

Overall, Depay has had a roller-coaster season in his debut campaign with Barca. He has scored eight goals in all competitions, which include a run of notching a goal in four straight La Liga matches. A notable hamstring injury later sidelined him for a bulk of fixtures in the first half of the season, which included missing Barca's 1-1 away draw result against Sevilla.

Depay has not earned a start since making his return to action from injury, as he was instead used as a substitute in the away league fixture against Granada and the Spanish Super Cup semifinal clash with Real Madrid.

Barca manager Xavi Hernandez did recently note that when it comes to playing time within the team, “Whoever is better will play regardless of their name.”

Barca will return to action with a Copa del Rey knockout stage encounter with Athletic Bilbao next week.
