It is no secret that the Philadelphia Eagles offense has taken some time to find their footing in the 2018 NFL season. As a result, they could be looking to add some more firepower at the trade deadline.

With the deadline quickly approaching, Philadelphia is among the teams that have been gauging the market. It appears they are hoping to bring in another playmaker to their roster per Jay Glazer in his mailbag for The Athletic:

“I think they're going to be pretty aggressive before the trade deadline. Last year they told me they wanted to be aggressive. They went out and traded for Jay Ajayi. This year I'm hearing the same thing from them. They are looking for playmakers. Not just at the running back position, but anywhere. If they can get a playmaker for the right price, they are going to go for it.”

The report should come as no surprise. The Eagles have been aggressive at the deadline in recent years. Last year, they managed to acquire running back Jay Ajayi en route to winning a Super Bowl. However, they now find themselves in the same position with Ajayi out for the year.

Rumors surfaced of the Eagles looking to potentially acquire Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy. Unfortunately, the reports never really gained any traction. Of course, the most notable name that comes to mind is Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell.

The Steelers have reportedly been fielding offers for Bell over the past several weeks. Although Bell would certainly be a massive upgrade at the running back position, it is far-fetched to assume they would be able to re-sign him after the season given his steep asking price. Trading picks for a one-year rental does not seem to be in the books for Philadelphia. Regardless, it is clear that the Eagles will need to add some more playmakers if they hope to defend their crown this season.
