The Detroit Pistons are reportedly interested in trading for Philadelphia 76ers second-year combo guard Markelle Fultz, according to Vincent Ellis of the Detroit Free Press.

Markelle Fultz has been diagnosed with Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, an injury that affects nerves between the neck and shoulder resulting in abnormal functional movement and range of motion. The Sixers have announced that Fultz will be out indefinitely as he rehabs the injury.

According to a league source, the Pistons have interest in Fultz, the No. 1 overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Fultz would be attractive for the Pistons as a young point guard prospect with Reggie Jackson coming off the books after next season.

In 19 games this season for the Sixers, Markelle Fultz is averaging 8.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game and shooting 41.9 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 56.8 percent from the free-throw line. There have been rumors that the Sixers want to part ways with Fultz to put an end to the drama which surrounds him on a daily basis.

A change of scenery could be great for Markelle Fultz, but if he still can't shoot, it doesn't matter where he plays. The 20-year-old needs to get his shot, mind, and body back in a good place before he plays in an NBA game again.

The Pistons are 13-13 on the season, seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
