The Washington Wizards have started the season 5-11 and there are rumors circulating that the front office isn't opposed to trading point guard John Wall or shooting guard Bradley Beal.

However, according to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post, there is a belief that the Wizards have zero plans to move on from either of its franchise cornerstones.

Although Washington may be floundering during a 5-11 start to the season, there is a belief that the team has zero plans to move on from either of its franchise cornerstones, based on conversations with multiple league sources who have familiarity with the Wizards and how their front office operates. A Wizards spokesman, meanwhile, cited team policy by saying President of Basketball Operations Ernie Grunfeld “doesn’t comment on rumors, so he won’t comment on this one.”

Both John Wall and Bradley Beal are All-Stars and putting up good individual numbers, but the team in Washington is struggling mightily and there are reports of dysfunction and tense practices coming out of the nation's capital.

Last season was the first time in the Wall-Beal era that the Wizards were eliminated in the first-round of the playoffs. After LeBron James left the Eastern Conference and the Wizards signed former All-NBA center Dwight Howard, the belief in Washington was that the team could contend in the Eastern Conference.

Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. The Wizards have the second-worst defense in the NBA and don't play like a team in any fashion. John Wall is averaging 20.9 points and 7.9 assists, while Bradley Beal is putting up 21.5 points, but the two leaders of the team have called out youngsters out the roster for playing selfishly.

The Wizards have a lot of money tied to John Wall and Bradley Beal. Wall signed a $170 million contract which starts in 2019. Beal signed a $127 million deal in 2016.
