Russell Westbrook did not have his best day at the office during Sunday's Game 1 loss to the Houston Rockets, haunted by the defensive pressure of 6-foot-1 Patrick Beverley shadowing his every step.

The MVP frontrunner struggled enough to make his numbers and Beverley's fairly comparable for one night — something the Rockets trolled him over.

“I never worry about what other guys are doing; it doesn't bother me. I've seen it all already,” a confident Westbrook told reporters when asked whether he had broken down film of how he was defended in Game 1.

The 6-foot-3 all-around guard argued his modest performance on Sunday didn't phase him, and that it would be about how he produces Wednesday night rather than how he is defended that matters for Game 2.

“He's a good defender for their team, but I don't worry about nobody, how they're defending,” said Westbrook. “I can pretty much do what I want to do.”

The UCLA product averaged 38.3 points per game against Beverley in the regular season, outscoring the Arkansas Razorback 115-14 through their three meetings in 2016-17. But the playoffs are a different beast, and coach Mike D'Antoni will deploy his ace perimeter defender as often as needed to keep Westbrook ensnared within his reach.
