Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley had another heated exchange of words during Game 5 of their first round series on Tuesday night. The six-time All-Star apparently told the Houston Rockets guard that nobody could, while Beverley fired back by highlighting the fact that it took him 34 shots to score that much.
Their back-and-forth did not end on the court, as Westbrook took another shot at him during his postgame einterview. The Oklahoma City Thunder star was asked to talk about the incident and said Beverley was bragging about his chances of making the All-Defensive First Team this season. The Brodie clearly did not agree with the claim.

“Oh yeah, he was talking about how he was first-team all-defense. I didn’t know what the hell he was talking about because I had 42 at the time. I don’t know what he was talking about, maybe he was dreaming about some sh** I don’t know. Sorry, excuse my cuss word, I don’t know what he was talking about, I guess he wants be first-team all-defense or something, maybe he was dreaming about it.”
Despite his incredible performances in the series, Westbrook and the Thunder came up short in advancing to the second round, losing to the Rockets in five games.
