Russell Westbrook posts ninth triple-double when missing at least 20 shots, most in NBA history

Rockets

Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook has always been an incredible player, but his harshest critics are always saying he’s one of the most inefficient players in the NBA. His performance against the Toronto Raptors validated both his fans and haters with a polarizing outing.

Brodie finished the 119-109 triumph with 19 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists. ESPN Stats & Info reported that this performance puts him in the history books. However, some basketball fans will be shaking their heads once they discovered his latest record.

Westbrook had a solid stat line of 19 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, and two steals. However, that didn’t mask how atrocious he was on the floor, only making seven of his 27 attempts. Six of those shots were three-point attempts, of which he made zero.

With any other team, such inefficiency in shooting could cost a team the win. However, he has James Harden for a teammate. Harden picked up the slack and chose his shots well, finishing with 23 points on 64% shooting from the field. Having such a teammate would make Westbrook not mind the horrible shooting night he was having.

While they are still winning basketball games in the regular season, this raises questions on how they will perform once playoff season comes knocking. Every team in the playoffs should have strong rosters and time needed to fully study their opponents. Westbrook’s inefficiency will be hurting the Rockets if they square up against one of the better teams in the West.
