Ryan Bader and Fedor Emelianenko appear to be on some sort of collision course as the Russian legend looks to end his MMA career on a high note. The two fought in Bellator back in 2019 with Bader winning by KO.
Fedor Emelianenko has recently been on an excellent run and hopes to rematch Ryan Bader for the heavyweight title in Bellator MMA. The bout could potentially happen if all things go right.
“The Russians like me or something. They’re after me,” MMA fighter Bader joked, going on to say that he can see why Emelianenko would be interested via CageSidePress. “It’s one of those things where, I get it. I ended up knocking him out in 35 seconds, and I can see how he wouldn’t want to go out like that, want a rematch.”
“I’m open to it, but I haven’t really thought about it too much,” MMA fighter Bader continued. “I want to focus on this fight, go out there and win this fight, then see what the win side of that would look like for me. Because right now, looking at that, it’s like a lose-lose situation. I can’t beat him any better than I did. It is a big fight, any Fedor fight is a big fight, especially his last retirement fight, but we’ll cross that bridge when it comes.”
Ryan Bader currently has an MMA fight booked for Bellator 273 on Friday where he'll defend his heavyweight title. He could potentially fight Fedor Emelianenko in a rematch should he successfully defend his heavyweight title.
