It was an ugly outing for Ryan Fitzpatrick and the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon.

The Jets suffered a disappointing 24-3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but the score doesn't do justice to how bad it really was. Fitzpatrick played perhaps the worst game of his career, completing under 50 percent of his passes, with no touchdowns and six interceptions.

Other players for New York had atrocious performances as well, but Ryan's clearly stood out above the rest.

On Monday, Fitzpatrick took sole responsibility for the Jets' loss. From Daniel Popper of the New York Daily News:

“It's a hard day for me to come in today after, pretty much, we lost that game because of my performance. You don't really need to pin it or try to put it on anything else. I think that was pretty evident,” Fitzpatrick said. “To walk in today and have to face the guys, it's not an easy thing to do. But at the same time, I've got to be the same guy every day as a leader, as a player.”

At this point, Fitzpatrick's focus has moved on to Seattle, who could be without their own starting quarterback, Russell Wilson:

“They're all easy to get over when you have a game the next week coming up,” Fitzpatrick said. “But it was so bad and there were so many poor things on my part that happened in that game that you want to put it behind you as fast as you can.”
