Just when you thought that Ryan Reynolds has finally reached peak creativity, he went ahead and partnered with Xbox to deliver gamers everywhere the very first Xbox Game Pass NPC Awards.

For those of you who don't know, NPC stands for Non-Player Character. Which is exactly the type of character Reynolds will be playing in his upcoming movie Free Guy. Guy, the character played by Reynolds, is also one of the lucky nominees. Coincidence? I think not.

Alongside Guy in the voting are Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal's Samuel Hayden, The Outer World's Parvati Holcomb, and Sea of Thieves' Chief Trader Mollie. These characters are all from video games that are currently available on the Xbox Game Pass. To be honest, though, I think we can all agree that Mai'q The Liar from Skyrim should've been on that list.

So if you want to vote for who you think should win the award, make sure to vote in Xbox's Twitter poll that is currently live now until August 3.

Ryan Reynolds is a genius when it comes to marketing his films. A couple of weeks ago, we saw Deadpool's debut into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He sat on a couch with Korg as they both made a reaction video to Free Guy's trailer. It was uploaded on Reynolds' YouTube channel and it was one of the single greatest moments in nerd history.

Free Guy is about an average everyday bank teller who realizes he is an NPC in an open-world video game. A world that will soon go offline and it's up to him to save it. The film will hit theaters on August 13, 2021.
