After a memorable NCAA tournament run with the Saint Peter's Peacocks, Doug Edert has elected to take his talents to the Bryant Bulldogs. As noted by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, the third-year guard has committed to Bryant.

Edert, along with Daryl Banks III and Matthew Lee, all entered the transfer portal on Tuesday following their standout run for the Peacocks in the NCAA tournament last month. Saint Peter’s clinched a spot in the tournament after its win over Monmouth in the MAAC tournament title game and subsequently pulled off upset wins over the likes of Kentucky and Purdue en route to an appearance in the Elite Eight.

Edert emerged as an unsung hero for Saint Peter’s, which included his 20-point outing against Kentucky. He capped off the campaign with career highs in games played (33) and points per game (9.5).

Saint Peter’s will see plenty of turnaround next season — especially as Shaheen Holloway opted to leave the program to become the new head coach for Seton Hall.

Edert, who has two years remaining of eligibility, will feature for a Bryant team that finished as Northeast Conference regular season and tournament champions this past season. Bryant did not go on to make an appearance in the 2022 NCAA Tournament First Round, as it was eliminated by Wright State in the First Four.

As with Saint Peter’s, Bryant will also see much change across the board within its roster — especially as top scorer Peter Kiss declared for the 2022 NBA Draft last month. At the least, Edert is slated to tag along with talents such as Charles Pride later this year.
