Well, it appears all reports and or rumors circulating around the National Football League campfire aren't true. We found this out when New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton made sure he recently set everybody straight.

After viewing a tweeted report from Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post, suggesting that free agent wide receiver Eric Decker would be visiting the Saints, Payton responded with a simple yet impactful two words.

“Bad sources.”

Of course, nobody blinks an eye these days when a beat reporter from any slightly trusted source comes out with news attached to “report.” Once it happens, they become the first. Shortly thereafter, other outlets take it and run with it attaching “according to sources” and “report” to the headline.

Suffice to say, many of these sources end up as completely incorrect. They just never get called out on it.

Until now.

Payton, the one-time Super Bowl champ, just did something the public figure being bandied about rarely even thinks about trying. He went right to the writer responsible for the source and shut it down cold. It's certainly something that will inspire others. It's doubtful others step up like Payton did.

Decker, 31, the man in question, is still a free agent after being cut by the Tennessee Titans. During his eight-year career, the Minnesota product has hauled in 439 footballs for 5,816 yards and 53 touchdowns.
