The New Orleans Saints will look to continue their start to a great season against the Chicago Bears in Week 7, but they could be without some massive pieces. According to The Athletic’s Katherine Terrell, both Alvin Kamara and Jared Cook were not at the open portion of Saints practice today, leaving their eligibility to play this week up in the air.

Kamara – who was limited at practice last week – is reportedly dealing with some type of high ankle injury that he suffered two weeks ago. While he did end up playing in the Saints' win last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, his status for the Bears game is now seriously in question, especially with the addition of a knee injury to his already ailing ankle.

While reports from around the league suggest that Alvin Kamara believes he can play, the fact that he’s yet to practice at all this week says otherwise. As for Jared Cook, the tight end is also suffering from an ankle injury, and might also be forced to sit this game out. The Saints are already dealing with a major loss on offense, as quarterback Drew Brees remains out as he recovers from a thumb injury.

The Saints are 5-1 at the moment, and while a loss to the Bears wouldn’t be the end of the world for the team, getting to 6-1 on the year without Drew Brees would be a major achievement for New Orleans. Unfortunately, they may have to face a ferocious Bears defense without some of their biggest offensive stars.
