The New Orleans Saints will be looking to pick up where they left off before the bye against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. Fortunately, it appears running back Alvin Kamara is slated to make his return.

He had missed two straight games while dealing with knee and ankle injuries, which allowed running back Latavius Murray to take full advantage of his absence. Kamara says he does not mind sharing the workload with Murray when he comes back, via ESPN's Mike Triplett:

“It's not like I'm selfish. I don't need the ball every play. He's fully capable, too. So I think we'll get a good balance going, and it will be hard to stop,” said Kamara, who said he talked to Murray early this season about how the touches would eventually balance out, even though Kamara was getting a heavy share of the workload at the time.

“And he was like, ‘I'm good. I'm not tripping,'” Kamara added. “I think it's an unselfish team. … So however it shakes out, it shakes out. I'm ready.”

It is undoubtedly encouraging to see that Kamara is not only set to make his return but that he is willing to whichever role head coach Sean Payton has for him. This is the kind of selfless attitude it takes to thrive in this Saints' offense since they have a tendency to spread the ball around.

Murray did a spectacular job leading the backfield in Kamara's absence by dialing up at least 150 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in two games. Kamara is certainly no stranger to being part of a formidable 1-2 punch in the backfield. It will be interesting to see how this dynamic is utilized down the stretch of the 2019 NFL season.
