New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been on an absolute tear this season. Kamara is setting records left and right at a historic pace. Here are just some of the records he smashed over New Orleans' first seven games of the season, via Mike Triplett of ESPN:

Kamara’s 55 receptions are the most by a running back in NFL history through the first seven games of a season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau — putting him on pace for 126 on the season.

His 556 receiving yards are the most of any running back since Lenny Moore in 1958.

The Saints invested a ton of money on the 25-year old stud this past off-season, despite being tight on the salary books. New Orleans granted him a $75 million contract extension over the next five seasons, with several bonuses and incentives tied up to it. With the way he's performed this year, it's safe to say the huge investment has been a hit so far.

The three-time Pro-Bowler had another magnificent outing in Sunday's 26-23 overtime win over the Chicago Bears. Alvin Kamara caught nine passes for 96 receiving yards and also had 67 rushing yards.

The win over Chicago marked the fourth time the Saints won via the back door. Three of those come from behind victories, came down to the final seconds, including Sunday's bloodbath against the Bears, where Kamara's 20-yard led to the game-winning field goal.

Kamara's numbers could take a hit once wide receivers Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders make their returns. However, quarterback Drew Brees will definitely make sure to feed the former third round pick more as often as he can.
