The New Orleans Saints are getting Drew Brees back in their offense, but the same can't be said for Alvin Kamara. According to Adam Schefter, Kamara will miss his second straight game with an ankle injury.

Dating back to last week, the Saints' do-it-all running back appeared on the injury report with an ankle injury. The injury appears to be serious enough to hold him out for the second consecutive week.

As of right now, the plan is for Kamara to recover during the team's bye week in Week 9 and return in Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons. Prior to the injury, Kamara had combined for 649 yards from scrimmage on 119 touches and two touchdowns.

While Kamara remains in street clothes, Latavius Murray will draw another start in the backfield against the Arizona Cardinals. Last week, in his first start of the season, Murray gashed the Chicago Bears defense for 119 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He also tacked on another five receptions for 31 yards as a receiver.

When Mark Ingram departed in free agency, many were skeptical of New Orleans' backfield behind Kamara. Those people's doubts have turned into optimism after seeing Murray shoulder the workload in Week 7.

Everyone knows that Murray isn't as versatile as Kamara but that doesn't mean he can't step up when needed. The veteran running back showcased last Sunday that he can be a difference-maker in an NFL offense.

With Brees back under center, the Saints offense may choose to put the ball in the air more than they did with Teddy Bridgewater. Even though, it would be wise for Sean Payton to lean on Murray as Brees is eased back into the offense after missing the previous five weeks.
