On Tuesday night, the New Orleans Pelicans won the Zion Williamson sweepstakes. Wednesday morning, New Orleans Saints coachSean Payton was already trying to recruit him to be a two-sport athlete.

Payton tweeted a photoshopped picture of the former Duke Blue Devils basketball star in a Saints jersey with the caption “had a thought…..”

Williamson is 6 foot- \7 inches and 284 pounds and is an athletic freak and maybe he could work well as a tight end or even a wideout with the Saints.

The Saints already have enough talent on their roster and Payton is getting a little greedy trying to get Williamson to play in the Superdome.

The best bet is for the Pelicans to drift Williamson and Payton can attend as many games as he would like to watch what many project as a once in a generation talent.

After it was confirmed the Pelicans had the number one pick, Williamson said that he would do whatever the team needs him to do.

“It can be a possibility but it's not sure until it actually happens,” Williamson said of possibly playing for the Pelicans on ESPN via Forbes. “Whatever that team needs me to do, I'm going to be able to do it.”

Pelicans general manager David Griffin said he was just excited for the fan base. This is an exciting time for fans of New Orleans franchises with both teams having stars all around. It should be another exciting fall and winter in the big easy, especially if the Pelicans draft Zion.
