The New Orleans Saints mounted a huge comeback victory on Monday night against the Los Angeles Chargers, which in the process, allowed Saints star QB Drew Brees to make a bit of personal history on the evening.

The Chargers came out firing out of the gates in this one, which put New Orleans down by as much as 17 points early in the contest. This prompted this rather prophetic tweet from ESPN's Ed Werder at halftime:

True enough, the Saints emerged with a victory after sending the game into overtime. This marked Brees' second career win after being down by at least 17 points, which in itself is quite a remarkable feat. It's been over a decade since Brees was able to overcome such a huge deficit, which now bring his record to 2-49 in such contests.

New Orleans was down by seven points with less than a minute remaining in regulation, but backup QB Taysom Hill came to the rescue to score an amazing solo touchdown. The Saints made the succeeding field goal to tie the game and send it into overtime. New Orleans went on to score three more points in the OT period to secure a 30-27 come-from-behind win.

Monday's win marks the Saints' second consecutive victory, following their 35-29 win over the Detroit Lions last week. New Orleans get a bye week in Week 6, but will be back in action on October 25 against the Carolina Panthers, who themselves have logged three straight wins after their Week 5 31-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
