New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees passed along his best wishes to Peyton Manning and Tom Brady as the two compete in Capital One's “The Match: Champions for Charity” on Sunday.

Drew Brees also issued a challenge to the pair of stars, saying he and professional golfer Sergio Garcia will take on the winners.

Brady will be paired with Phil Mickelson for Sunday's match, while Manning will be teaming up with Tiger Woods. The teams will compete at Woods' home course of Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida.

Drew Brees is quite the golfer himself. According to PGA.com, Brees' last known handicap (in 2018) was close to a 9, though he could have improved his game since then. Manning and Brady both hover closer to a 6 handicap.

For their part, the Saints are hoping Drew Brees has more to give on the gridiron before he spends his time golfing in retirement.

New Orleans signed Brees to a two-year deal in free agency, though he has previously hinted he might be assessing his career year-by-year from here on out.

Drew Brees missed five games after suffering a thumb injury in Week 2, but still managed to put up some of the best numbers of his career. The 41-year-old led all quarterbacks with a 74.3 completion percentage, marking the third consecutive year Brees has owned that category.

The Saints kept most of their core offensive pieces intact while also signing free-agent wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders. Drew Brees and Co. should have ample opportunity to put up points in 2020, and possibly bring another Lombardi Trophy to New Orleans.
