The New Orleans Saints are slated for an NFC Championship rematch with the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2 of the 2019 NFL season. It seems quarterback Drew Brees is still salty about how their last meeting went down.

A no-call on an obvious pass interference against New Orleans played an integral role in heir loss. According to Katherine Terrell of The Athletic, Brees does not think he will ever get over the loss:

“Still haven’t, never will,” said quarterback Drew Brees when asked how long it took him to forget about what happened. “When you say forget about, you have to find a way to compartmentalize it to where you can move on in a positive way, so I found a way to do that.”

Brees comments are certainly understandable. Not only did they lose an opportunity to potentially seal the game but he was unable to answer back after throwing an interception on the final drive soon thereafter.

The loss was hardly an ideal way to end the year. Of course, New Orleans has become accustomed to heartbreaking losses in recent years. The season before it was the “Minnesota Miracle” that ended their playoff run after a last-second hail mary by the Minnesota Vikings. The loss to Los Angeles the following year has only served to amplify the effects of their dismay.

It was a long offseason for the Saints as they attempted to cope with their recent heartbreak. Regardless, it is safe to assume that a win over the Rams will be a good place to start.
