After a disastrous start to the 2017 NFL season, the New Orleans Saints have ripped off seven wins in a row to secure their place atop the NFC South. New Orleans is clicking on all cylinders, with superstar Drew Brees continuing to prove that age is just a number.

Although the Saints are in the midst of a stellar campaign, their veteran signal caller's future beyond the 2017 NFL season still remains unclear. However, Brees was adamant about finishing his illustrious career in the “Big Easy” during an appearance on XTRA 1360 AM:

“I feel like we’ve got a great opportunity ahead of us and I don’t plan on leaving New Orleans ever,” Brees said. “Hopefully, I know all of that stuff takes care of itself when it’s supposed to. I have not approached them about any contract. We just have a great understanding here. Listen, we’re going to go through this season and we’ll revisit it in the offseason. For right now, I’m in the moment.”

New Orleans has committed to rebuilding its young core on both sides of the ball over the last few years. So, it remains to be seen how the 38-year-old fits in with their long-term plan. He is an unrestricted free agent after the season.

However, Brees still looks the part of an elite NFL quarterback. Despite a downtick in touchdowns, he still leads the league in completion percentage and ranks sixth in passing yards.
