The New Orleans Saints are in the thick of one of the most heated playoff races in all of football. However, that did not stop star quarterback Drew Brees from etching his name into the NFL history books once again.

The Saints got off to a solid start in their crucial divisional matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Following a 12-yard screen pass to running back Mark Ingram, Brees became just the third quarterback in NFL history to throw for 70,000 career passing yards, according to ESPN's Mike Triplett

Drew Brees joins Peyton Manning and Brett Favre as the only QBs to ever reach the milestone.

Aside from being one of the most prolific passers in league history, he also became the fastest to reach the historic milestone. Furthermore, he was able to thoroughly enjoy the impressive feat with the Saints now one step closer toward winning the NFC South after defeating the Falcons 23-13.

Although there is plenty of football still left to play for New Orleans, there has been some speculation regarding Brees' uncertain future beyond the 2017 NFL season. However, as evidenced by his recent performance, it is clear that the 38-year-old vet still has some miles left in the tank and a few more potential records to break as well.
