The New Orleans Saints have enjoyed quite the resurgence throughout the 2017 NFL season. The Saints have not been to the playoffs since 2013 and prior to this year, there was little to suggest that they would manage to get over the 7-9 hump.

However, the one constant that remained throughout the struggle has been the stellar performance of star quarterback Drew Brees. With the Saints now back on the verge of clinching a playoff spot, Brees is set to achieve yet another impressive feat for the franchise, according to Reddit user JaguarGator9:

From 1967-2005, the Saints had 5 seasons with 10+ wins: 1987 (12-3), 1988 (10-6), 1991 (11-5), 1992 (12-4), and 2000 (10-6).

Since Drew Brees arrived in 2006, the Saints have had 5 seasons with 10+ wins: 2006 (10-6), 2009 (13-3), 2010 (11-5), 2011 (13-3), and 2013 (11-5).

If the Saints win tonight, they will be 10-3, clinching a 10+ win season. That would give Brees six of those. Every other QB in Saints history combined has 5.

New Orleans had been notorious for their troublesome franchise history. As evidenced by the statistic, the Saints had a blasphemous losing track record up until the arrival of Brees.

The Brees effect was felt immediately in New Orleans after leading the team to a 10-6 record in his debut season. The Saints have been legitimate title contenders ever since with the exception of a few down years here and there.

Despite having another solid year, there has been some uncertainty regarding Brees future with the team beyond the 2017 NFL season. The 38-year-old has experienced a dip in production, however, he still remains among the elite quarterbacks in the league
