The New Orleans Saints are cruising through their opponents as they dominated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a one-sided performance. One of the biggest performers during the 34-17 rout was Michael Thomas, and Saints quarterback Drew Brees couldn't help but praise the 26-year-old wideout on his performances so far.

He finished the game with 114 receiving yards and one touchdown on eight receptions. He's easily the best playmaker on the field, making every throw Brees sent his way a worthwhile risk to take.

The 40-year-old QB didn't hold back his praises when it came to talking about Thomas. He felt like he's one of the main reasons why the team has been so successful this season.

“Here’s the thing, if you saw the guy work, if you saw the guy prepare, it’s just what we see everyday in practice, honestly,” Brees said in his postgame press conference, per Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper.

“Maybe it’s one of those things that when it’s all said and done, you look back and you really, really appreciate. I just love his mindset. He is a ‘I want the ball’, ‘I will get open’, ‘I will make the play for you’ kind of guy and that’s the kind of guy you want.”

There are still plenty of games left to play in the season, but Thomas is expected to break his numbers. He's currently leading the league in completed receptions (94), receiving yards, (1141), and yards per game (114.1). It wouldn't be bizarre to think that he'd beat his personal best without breaking a sweat. And his stellar performances may also help his team reach the Super Bowl.
