The New Orleans Saints' Emmanuel Sanders can make a little bit of NFL history.

After signing with the Saints — his fourth NFL team — the veteran receiver can accomplish a first-ever feat. Sanders has previously made Super Bowl appearances with his three previous teams. Which means that if the Saints make the Super Bowl, it'll be his fourth appearance in the big game with four different teams. That means he'll make NFL history in the process.

No player in NFL history has ever appeared in the Super Bowl with four different squads, according to Michael David Smith of NBC Sports.

“When Emmanuel Sanders signed with the Saints, he put himself in a position to do something unique in NFL history. Sanders can become the first player ever to play in the Super Bowl for four different franchises.

No player has ever played in the Super Bowl with four different franchises, but Sanders is among seven who have played in the Super Bowl with three. Preston Pearson, Bill Romanowski, Rod Woodson, Darrien Gordon, Harry Swayne and Joe Jurevicius are the others.”

As mentioned by David Smith, Sanders has appeared in the Super Bowl with three other teams. He's appeared in one each with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers. He has lost Super Bowls XLV and LIV, but has won Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos.

Considering Sanders is coming off of the heels of defeat in the Super Bowl with the Niners, one would think he's extra motivated. Sanders will look to make NFL history in 2020.
