The New Orleans Saints were able to secure some quality depth under center with the addition of Jameis Winston. It appears he is already looking forward to having the luxury of playing behind a future Hall of Famer in quarterback Drew Brees.

After beginning his career as a franchise quarterback from the start, Winston will now be able to take in the game from a different perspective as Brees' backup. According to Amie Just of NOLA.com, he feels it is the first time that he has someone to learn from outside of a Google search:

“Being a quarterback, you have to be a student of the game, so now I actually get a chance to dive into that more. I actually have a Hall of Fame quarterback that I'm learning from opposed to trying to learn by myself, or use Google.”

Winston's comments may be seen as somewhat of a slight toward his former coaching staff with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Of course, he experienced some significant turnover early on prior to head coach Bruce Arians' arrival prior to the 2019 campaign.

Meanwhile, the most notable veteran quarterback Winston has played with is Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is now set to serve as the bridge for another young quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa. Although Fitzpatrick has provided his fair share of moments, it is safe to say that he is hardly the same caliber of player Brees is.

Furthermore, Winston's skill set as a bonafide gunslinger makes him an ideal fit in the high-powered Saints offense. It will be interesting to see if his time in New Orleans gives him an opportunity to bounce back elsewhere like it did for now-Carolina Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
