Free-agent tight end Jared Cook picked the New Orleans Saints over the New England Patriots mainly because he wanted to be the No. 1 tight end in the offense.

That was before Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement, so you have to wonder if Cook is having some second thoughts about his decision now.

Well, even if he is, he won't act on it.

According to Peter King of NBC Sports, Cook is committed to the Saints and is not going to back out of his agreement with the club.

The 31-year-old, who spent the 2018 campaign with the Oakland Raiders, is coming off of the best season of his career, as he hauled in 68 receptions for 896 yards and six touchdowns en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Cook, who played his collegiate football at the University of South Carolina, was originally selected by the Tennessee Titans in the third round (89th pick overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.

He spent the first four years of his career with the Titans, with his best season with the club coming in 2011 when he caught 49 passes for 759 yards and three scores.

The Birmingham, Al. native then went on to sign with the St. Louis Rams, spending three years with the club before making his way to the Green Bay Packers.

After one very disappointing season with the Packers, Cook joined the Raiders, where he revitalized his career.

The Saints won 13 games and won the NFC South division title this past season before suffering a devastating loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game.
