In news that certainly falls in the New Orleans Saints purview, the main man heading up the state in which they reside is coming to terms with a new-normal.

Louisana Governor John Bel Edwards knows that New Orleans Saints games — and all all sporting events — are going to look different when the COVID-19 pandemic is over. Edwards believes maybe every other seat can be sold or temperature checks can be taken coming in the door. Edwards still has hope that sports can go on this fall, admitting he can't wait to be watching the LSU Tigers in Tiger Stadium.

“I just don't know,” Edwards said as a disclaimer via Amie Just of Nola.com, “but I can certainly see myself in Tiger Stadium because that's where I want to be, yelling for the Tigers so that they can successfully defend their national championship.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the leading health expert on the White House's coronavirus task force, says games could return sooner, but no fans would be in attendance.

“Nobody comes to the stadium,” Fauci said. “Put them in big hotels, wherever you want to play. Keep them very well surveilled. Have them tested like every week. And make sure they don’t wind up infecting them or their family and let them play the season out.”

This is an unprecedented time and no one really knows what the next few months will look like, which is why it seems there are so many differing opinions on how sports can finally return.

When fans are back in the stadiums, Louisiana Governor Edwards is going to be ready to cheer his Saints and Tigers on in person.
