Marshon Lattimore is one of the best young cornerbacks in the game and is a major part of the New Orleans Saints' defense. Even though the Saints' defense hasn't been as dominant this season as it was last year, the second-year cornerback has still been able to make plays.

New Orleans has been putting together a dominant game against the Washington Redskins on Monday on both sides of the football. Unfortunately, Lattimore went down with an injury and was forced to leave the game.

According to a report from the Saints' official Twitter account, Lattimore will not return to the game due to a concussion.

Losing Lattimore is a major blow for the New Orleans defense. Thankfully, the Saints have the game well in hand and should be just fine to finish out this week's game without him. The main issue with a concussion is that they tend to have lingering effects that cause players to miss more time.

Coming into tonight's game, Lattimore had racked up 13 tackles to go along with a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a defended pass. Against the Redskins before being forced out of the game, Lattimore recorded one tackle.

New Orleans can only hope that the concussion symptoms will leave Lattimore quickly. Another major positive for the Saints is that they are heading into their bye week and do not play again until October 21. That should give the Saints' cornerback enough time to be cleared to play as long as the concussion is not severe.

More information will be available in the near future about the severity of the concussion and we will make sure to have that update for you as soon as possible.
