The coronavirus pandemic has clearly affected every existing market, including that of the NFL. The league tried to look ahead for possible cost-cutting options in the event that the season will be canceled altogether. The development of the news clearly rose some eyebrows, most especially to that of the players.

The pandemic has affected the economic aspect of the NFL as well. Ticket sales, which is one of the most profit-generating aspects of the sports industry, will be non-existent once the season starts. The proposal was made in order to help cut costs for the league.

Pushing through with the coming season will help sports leagues to minimize costs brought about by the pandemic. The NFL has decided to continue with training camp and the regular season despite not having safety protocols in place. Team personnel and players alike are going to be risking their health in order to continue providing entertainment to the fans especially in the midst of these hard times.

The Saints star, however, was not the only player to let his disappointment be heard. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Eagles cornerback Darius Slay, and Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan were among those who responded on social media as well.

The league still has to resolve several uncertainties regarding the league's safety precautions prior to the start of the season. NFL players will report to their respective training camps three weeks from now.
