According to a recent report from Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports, the New Orleans Saints appear primed to throw a ton of money at All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas. Robinson is reporting that the Saints have already offered Thomas a new deal, one that will potentially average between $18 and $19 million per season.

Robinson tweeted the following on Monday evening in regards to Thomas' ongoing contract situation in New Orleans:

“On the Michael Thomas contract talks: Sources say the #Saints have offered a deal averaging between $18-$19 million a year. Thomas would like to be the first $20 million wideout in the #NFL. A $20 mil per year average w/ the right structure/guarantees would likely get it done.”

Such news hardly comes as a surprise, however, as Thomas as quickly emerged as one of the best wideouts in the entire league. The Saints originally selected Thomas in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Ohio State while his first three NFL seasons have turned some heads along the way — to say the least.

Last season alone, the 26-year-old Thomas produced an impressive 125 receptions for 1,405 yards and nine touchdowns during the regular season. Averaging 11.2 yards per reception in 2018, Thomas appeared in all 16 regular-season games for the playoff-bound Saints.

Missing just one regular-season game as a member of the Saints, which came during his rookie season back in 2016, Thomas has recorded 321 receptions, 3,787 yards and 23 touchdowns over the course of 47 career regular-season games. It is also worth noting that Thomas has been targeted a whopping 418 times as an NFL wide receiver.
