Through his first two seasons in the NFL, New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl wide receiver Michael Thomas has quickly established himself as one of the rising stars at the position.

Much of this has come in the way of his strong bond on the field with quarterback Drew Brees that he has helped cultivate since entering the league. It is something that Thomas voiced that he and Brees have developed a “special relationship” that has helped them find much success together on the field, according to Matt Miller of Bleacher Report.

This has helped Thomas step into a prominent role in the passing game as the top receiving target for Brees that has led to him posting back-to-back campaigns to begin his career with at least 90 catches and 1,100 receiving yards. In fact, he joined New York Giants Pro Bowl wideout Odell Beckham Jr. as the only players to record more than 90 catches in their first two seasons.

Thomas has been able to continue to produce at an elite level even with the Saints possessing an explosive running game led by their dynamic duo fo Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. He has stood out as the primary option in the passing game that Brees has been able to depend on greatly.

With the 39-year-old agreeing to a two-year deal, this should see this connection with Thomas continue to strive in New Orleans and remain a crucial part of their offensive game plan.
