Reactions from the New Orleans Saints organization to the news that former head coach Sean Payton stepped down have started to pour in. From defensive end Cameron Jordan all the way up to owner Gayle Benson, the entire franchise has been affected by the landscape-altering move. Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas was the latest to react to the Payton news on Tuesday, as he sent out a tweet praising his former head coach.

Saints wideout Michael Thomas emphatically called former head coach Sean Payton a “legend”, imploring everyone to never forget that.

For all that Thomas and Payton went through recently, it seems like things are good between the two, or perhaps the Saints wideout wouldn't have been so quick to praise his former coach.

Thomas is absolutely right about Payton. The former Saints head coach is tied for 21st in NFL history with 152 career victories.

Payton helped lead New Orleans to their first-ever Super Bowl victory back in 2009 and saw a strong run from 2017-2020, teams that Thomas was a part of, as New Orleans rattled off double-digit wins in each of those years.

Sean Payton has quite the resume as the head coach of the Saints. Just as Michael Thomas said- he's a legend.
