Heading into their Week 16 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, the New Orleans Saints had the opportunity to secure their first playoff appearance in four years.

The Saints stepped up to the challenge against the Falcons, topping Atlanta 23-13, which officially stamped New Orleans its trip to the postseason.

The Saints were able to grind out a win over the Falcons behind their defense that forced a pair of turnovers. Although it wasn't the typical huge performances from their Pro Bowl backfield, the duo did have a big impact on the game.

Mark Ingram scored a touchdown while rushing for 44 yards, with rookie Alvin Kamara running for 32 yards and hauling in seven catches for 58 receiving yards.

It is has been a complete turnaround for New Orleans, finding a new identity through their running back duo of Ingram and Kamara leading the offense. This has brought some much-needed balance to the team that has put much less pressure on Drew Brees to lead the team to success with his arm.

New Orleans is also still in the driver seat to claim their first NFC South division title in six years if they are able to grab a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road on New Year's Eve.
