The New Orleans Saints found themselves banged up after losing to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14. Fortunately, it appears they have already managed to secure some depth.

The Saints hosted a number of free-agent pass rushers for a workout after ruling out defensive end Marcus Davenport for the rest of the 2019 NFL season with a foot injury. According to NFL Network's Mike Garofolo, they decided on defensive end Noah Spence:

Saints are signing DE Noah Spence today, source says. With Marcus Davenport out for the season, the former Buccaneers second-rounder is in.

Spence is a solid pickup for New Orleans this late in the year. After all, they suffered two key injuries upfront in the loss to the Saints with Davenport and defensive lineman Sheldon Rankins. Meanwhile, backup defensive lineman Trey Hendrickson is also dealing with an injury heading into Week 15.

Spence had been on the Saints' radar coming out of college until he was picked up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2016 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, his stint with the Bucs ended prior to the 2019 campaign after struggling to find his footing early on. Regardless, he is hoping to take advantage of this new opportunity with a bonafide playoff contender.

New Orleans is not by any means in a must-win situation thanks to the lack of overall competition in the NFC South. As a result, they will have the luxury of working out a few kinks on the roster over the final three games before the playoffs roll around.
