The New Orleans Saints are pursuing Deshaun Watson as hard as any team right now. With their quarterback situation in flux, landing the Houston Texans star in a trade would solve their issues at the most important position in the game.

After meeting with Watson, the Saints made moves to prepare for his potential arrival. According to ESPN's Field Yates, they restructured the contracts of DeMario Davis, Malcolm Jenkins, Taysom Hill and Bradley Roby. The moves open up enough room to get them nearly $30 million in cap space.

The Saints have restructured some of their contracts previously, including those of Cam Jordan and Alvin Kamara, to open up more wiggle room. Watson's contract would take more than $30 million to fully fit, but being so close gives the Saints a lot of possibilities to work a trade for the three-time Pro Bowler. With so many teams looking to bring him in, they will need every advantage they can get.

The Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons are pursuing Watson very hard, too. Once Watson's criminal case was decided in his favor, the trade market for him expeditiously ramped up. The Saints, who just missed the playoffs last season, would improve a lot with a quarterback of Watson's caliber.

Watson still holds the power in his trade because of his no-trade clause but a decision could be coming very soon. New Orleans' job is far from over.
