The New Orleans Saints have high expectations for the 2020 season—just ask offensive tackle Terron Armstead.

“It’s gotta be Super Bowl or bust,” Armstead said, per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. “If we don’t get to the big dance, it’s a failed season. That’s it.”

That’s some significant pressure to thrust upon oneself before even suiting up for the first game of what is sure to be a tumultuous 2020 season as the league attempts to play while the country navigates the COVID-19 pandemic.

Armstead’s play during the year will likely have a direct impact on how far New Orleans goes, particularly due to the fact that the team’s offense is its ticket to where he sees the year finishing up. Protecting Drew Brees’ blindside for most of the past seven seasons, Armstead has recently come into his own, having been named to the Pro Bowl each of the last two years, despite not having played in all 16 regular-season games at any point in his career.

While nothing is assured in the NFL, the Saints have been to the postseason eight times during the tenure of head coach Sean Payton, including each of the last three years.

The Saints have reeled off back-to-back 13-win campaigns, having been bounced from the playoffs in overtime in each setting. Now, they look around at an NFC South drastically changed by Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski’s decision to decamp on Tampa and join the Buccaneers.

Still, as Armstead iterated, the Saints aren’t worried about just winning the division for the fourth straight year; they want the second Lombardi trophy in franchise history.
