The New Orleans Saints have had one of the most explosive offensive units in football this season, and wide receiver Michael Thomas is a big reason why.

Pro Football Focus demonstrates just how terrific Thomas has been in 2018:

On the year, Thomas has hauled in a league-leading 120 receptions for 1,376 yards and nine touchdowns en route to his second straight Pro Bowl appearance.

Of course, it helps to have Drew Brees throwing you the football, but Thomas deserves a ton of credit for how spectacular he has been.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State University, was originally selected by the Saints in the second round (47th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He burst on to the scene during his rookie campaign, catching 92 passes for 1,137 yards and nine scores. Then, the following year, Thomas was even better, snaring 104 balls for 1,245 yards while reaching the end zone five times.

New Orleans ranks sixth in the NFL in total offense this season.

The Saints are coming off of a huge win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend, allowing them to improve to 13-2 and to put the clamps on the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC.

As a result, New Orleans can afford to take it easy this Sunday for its season finale against the Carolina Panthers, as the Saints have no fear of a loss dropping them in the NFC playoff picture.

This marks the first time New Orleans has made back-to-back postseason appearances since 2011, when it coincidentally won 13 games.
