New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is coming off a ridiculous 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 125 receptions for 1,405 yards and nine touchdowns, en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Obviously, Michael Thomas is one of the best wideouts in the NFL, and it isn't just because he plays in a dome with Drew Brees.

The man is simply a freak, and a lot of his ability to thrive comes from what he can do after the catch, as Pro Football Focus points out with this interesting statistic:

Thomas, who played collegiate football at Ohio State University, was originally selected by the Saints in the second round (47th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He burst onto the scene during his rookie year, catching 92 passes for 1,137 yards and nine scores. Then, the following year, Thomas was even better, snaring 104 balls for 1,245 yards while reaching the end zone five times, making his first Pro Bowl appearance.

The 26-year-old may not have the overall cachet of Antonio Brown or Odell Beckham Jr., but there is no question that he is one of the most gifted receivers in football.

Meanwhile, the Saints won an NFL-best 13 games and captured the NFC South Division title this past season. They then defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round of the playoffs before suffering a heartbreaking and controversial NFC Championship Game loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams.
