The restrictions placed by the league in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) has forced teams to take unprecedented action leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft. Regardless, this has not stopped New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton from doing what he can to help curve the pandemic.

Payton recently made an appearance on FOX 8 New Orleans to donate both money and plasma to the cause:

“Until there’s a vaccine for it, this allows us to do something we think can help,” Payton said. “And basically if you’re someone who’s had COVID-19, or if you know you’ve had COVID-19, they’ll ask questions relative to how long you’ve been symptom-free.

“But the idea being that it’s your blood being taken, they’re gonna grab some plasma from it so you’re not gonna lose any blood, that takes about 45 minutes. Hopefully that plasma will help someone who’s been affected in a much more grave way.”

Payton is in the midst of arguably the busiest part of the offseason just days away from the draft. Of course, times like these call for extreme solutions and will need the consensus to do their part in order to help it come to an end.

Now that he has done his philanthropic work, Payton can now get back to fortifying his home fortress for the upcoming draft. The Saints are without a pick in the second-round meaning they will need to ensure that they hit the mark on their first and third-round picks. Of course, there is still plenty of speculation regarding their willingness to pull the trigger on a potential trade.
