The New Orleans Saints re-signed Teddy Bridgewater to a one-year deal which means all three quarterbacks are back from last year, and that is something that makes coach Sean Payton happy.

There were many who believed that Bridgewater would move onto a different team, but Payton made it a priority to keep him in New Orleans.

“It’s such an important position,” Payton said to WWL.com. “We felt last year we had one of the better rooms in the league that way and not only just the make up of the room but the talent of the room because Taysom Hill is still in that room. He’s someone that’s developing and we feel like he’s going to be someone that competes to play in this league. So Teddy brings a lot to the team and I think it’s been a real good fit.”

Bridgewater did get a start in the last game of the season the regular season, but he struggled throwing only 118 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Payton and the rest of the front office have confidence though that if Drew Brees were to go down, Bridgewater would be able to step up and fill the role. It would be hard to get the same production as Brees, but the team has confidence they wouldn't miss a beat.

Hill is also expected to be a big part of the team this upcoming season. Hill appeared in all 16 games last year mostly lining up as a gadget guy to keep defenses off balance.
