Dez Bryant's tenure with the New Orleans Saints in 2018 lasted all of two practices before the wide receiver tore his Achilles, knocking him out for the entire year.

However, there has been some talk that the Saints are interested in bringing Bryant back for 2019, but New Orleans head coach Sean Payton would not confirm or deny the rumors.

“I just know he’s been rehabbing,” Payton said, according to Mike Triplett of ESPN.com. “I wouldn’t be able to forecast the future relative to Dez.”

Bryant last appeared in an NFL game with the Dallas Cowboys in 2017, appearing in all 16 contests that season and hauling in 69 receptions for 838 yards and six touchdowns. The Cowboys then proceeded to cut him that ensuing offseason.

The 30-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Oklahoma State University, was originally selected by Dallas in the first round (24th pick overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

He had a decent rookie campaign, catching 45 passes for 561 yards and six scores. He then followed that up with an even better sophomore season, snaring 63 balls for 928 yards and nine touchdowns.

But, Bryant did not really break out until his third year in the league, when he registered 92 receptions for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns. He would go on to make Pro Bowls in 2013 and 2014, also earning a First-Team All-Pro selection in the latter season after finishing with 88 catches, 1,320 yards, and a league-leading 16 touchdowns.

Unfortunately for Bryant, injuries have derailed him over much of the past four years, as he participated in just 22 games in 2015 and 2016 before playing one last full 16-game campaign in 2017.
