Possibly finding a way to pass the tedium following passing his bout with the coronavirus, New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton spent Monday sharing a not-so-exclusive look at his team's playbook via social media.

“I quickly drew (one) up on paper and took a picture of one of our plays. Posted it, then just continued,” Payton said via text, per Mike Triplett of ESPN.

Payton, 56, was the first coach in the NFL to test positive for COVID-19 earlier this month but recently announced that he is clear of the pandemic-level virus that has caused a public health crisis in the United States, among other countries.

One interesting wrinkle in Payton's playbook is the terminology spawned by sandwich restaurant chains, including Jimmy John's and Quiznos.

Payton shouted out Hall of Fame receiver Jerry Rice as a “master” of the “Lucy”—the “lookie option” route.

Payton, a former quarterbacks coach of the Dallas Cowboys, was brought to New Orleans in 2006—the same year as Drew Brees—winning the Coach of the Year distinction his first season with the Saints. Payton and Brees later led the Saints to a Super Bowl victory over the Indianapolis Colts in 2009-10, although his record was slightly tarnished with “BountyGate,” which saw the league suspend the head coach for the 2012 season for his role in the organization paying players for explicitly hurting opposing players.

Payton might have to find new names or new foods to call these plays in the future considering the passing game success for the Saints along with Brees and Michael Thomas, who broke the single-season receptions record this past season.
