It turns out that New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton is just like the rest of us when dealing with disappointment. Payton did his season-ending press conference on Wednesday and was asked about how he dealt with the loss and just like the rest of the United States he watched Netflix and ate ice cream.

“What is it now, a week and a half? It feels like it's been longer than that,” Payton said via ESPN. “I would say honestly after the game for two to three days, much like normal people, I sat and probably didn't come out of my room, ate Jeni's ice cream and watched Netflix for three straight days.”

Payton said that initially for about 24 hours after the game he was mad but after that he was just disappointed for the players and the fans that the season had to end like that. Payton talked to many inside the league office including Roger Goodell but he knew nothing could be changed and they just had to live with what was called.

Payton also said that a lot of people reached out to him which was nice, but he also just wanted to hide and get away from everything for a few days.

“My discussions briefly on Monday and Tuesday with the commissioner and Troy were relative to — not any type of reversal or anything like that — just the play and any statement,” Payton said. “But there's tons of people that reach out to you, you get a ton of text messages and emails, and you're appreciative of all that, then you just want to disappear into your cave for a little while.”

It will be interesting if the blown call does lead to changes being made to the rulebook but for now it's all about the ice cream and Netflix for Payton.
