The Atlanta Falcons unveiled their new jersey earlier this week, only for fans to trash them on social media. Sean Payton, the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, joined in on the fun by trolling the Falcons.
At first glance, it appears that Payton is just listing shows and movies that can be watched on Netflix or HBO. However, upon further examination, Payton listed them in a unique manner to throw a shot at the Falcons.
If you look on the left side of his final tweet, it spells out “28-to-3”. Of course, the Falcons are known for conceding a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl to the New England Patriots back in 2016.
In addition, the bottom line of Payton's tweet was the final blow to Atlanta in this one-sided exchange. While it was already bad enough he pointed out the 28-3 lead, the Super Bowl took place in Houston at NRG Stadium.
The head coach of the Saints wasn't the only one to poke fun at Atlanta for their new uniforms. Shortly after the Falcons revealed their uniforms, the Carolina Panthers Twitter account roasted their division rivals.
Even though the Saints haven't fared much better in the postseason in recent years, they've won the NFC South in three consecutive years. Therefore, the Falcons can't really respond with a joke centered around New Orleans sputtering in the Super Bowl.
Payton hasn't been very active on social media over the years. But when he chooses to get involved with social media, the Falcons better be prepared to be reminded of their blown lead in Super Bowl 51.
