The New Orleans Saints are making a number of changes heading into the 2022 season. Apparently, one of them involves how they will look on the field. On Thursday, the Saints announced they will wear new alternate helmets for at least one game this season, and they look pretty sharp.

Unlike the classic golden helmet, the new alternate will be black with fleur-de-lee's running up alongside the center of it. It has somewhat of a combination between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Purdue Boilermakers.

For insight on expectations for the 10 new head coaches in the 2022 NFL season, listen below:

The Buckeyes fill up the helmet with leaves, and the Saints will be using fleur-de-lee's.

The new helmets left Saints fans mostly underwhelmed. Some of whom believe the gold helmets should not be changed. Others believe the fleur-di-lee's are too bland looking. There is no doubt that these will be quite the departure from their normal helmets. But they are obviously trying to shake things up.

The Saints will head into the 2022 season with a ton of potential, but also just as many question marks. The defense has been really good for a number of years now. But they are aging and one has to wonder how long can they continue to play at an elite level while they wait on the offense.

Jameis Winston should be fully healthy going into the season. He quietly was having a solid year until he suffered a season-ending injury. They hope to have Michael Thomas back but his health is still a question mark. That's likely why they drafted former Buckeyes standout Chris Olave.

In a division with the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers, the Saints at the very least should be finish second in the NFC South. Don't forget, their defense gives Tom Brady fits. A division crown is not necessarily out of the realm of possibility.
