New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson was forced to miss last Sunday's matchup with the Los Angeles Rams as he was diagnosed with appendicitis prior to the NFC Championship game. Watson was clearly not pleased with the turnout and even more so with the fact that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has not spoken out on the matter.

It's clear that Watson shares a similar outlook and opinion in accordance with many other players as well as the fans of the game. Goodell has simply been asked to acknowledge the situation and furthermore provide an explanation rather than sit in silence. The unfortunate situation also has no way of being changed considering there has only been speculation that missed calls will only possibly be giving a second look in the future. This means if a coach feels a pass interference called was missed they may be able to challenge the play, but for now nothing is set in stone and talks have lessened.

Saints players are upset and rightfully so, but as many have stated, the game could have been decided prior to this call. More times than not a game is not usually decided by just one call, but one as blatant as this is a tough pill to swallow for any player, coach, or fan.

Watson has been a strong role model and humanitarian in the league and it's disappointing to see his career come to an end like this. Watson's plea for an explanation or some form of action is not asking a lot, considering what he has done over the years.
