The New Orleans Saints go deep into the playbook with some trickery for a touchdown in the NFC Divisional Round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With the ball on their own 44-yard line, the Saints set up in the wildcat formation. The double end around gave the ball to Winston, who was set up as a wide receiver. He would use his arm to throw to a wide-open Tre'Quan Smith for the touchdown.

Gadget plays and unique formations are not uncommon for the Saints, who normally use Taysom Hill as the gadget quarterback. With Winston's addition over the offseason, however, it gave the team another threat to bring in to extend the field, which they used to great success on this play. Some have criticized head coach Sean Payton for his use of gadget plays and other quarterbacks when he has a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Drew Brees, but it helps the aging Brees to get a breather while on offense while also keeping the defense honest.

This touchdown would give the Saints the lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers halfway through the second quarter. This game was the most highly anticipated of the divisional round, with two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks in Brees and Tom Brady facing off against each other for the first time. With both in their 40s, Brady at 43 and Brees at 42, this is the oldest pair of quarterbacks to face off in the playoffs in NFL history. In spite of analysts anticipating both to show signs of slowing down and coming towards the end of their careers at the beginning of each season, neither are showing any signs of slowing down.
